Our client is a Design and Build firm in Surrey specialising in smaller-scale residential that is looking for a Construction Project Manager with good experience working on similar projects at a domestic scale.

The role:

-Assess, check and format detailed estimates prepared by our external estimating team.

-Negotiate and agree contractor construction costs.

-Assignment of project construction delivery milestones for each project

-Production of associated programme of works on specialist Construction Portal Software.

-On site review of works to confirm project milestone sign off and authorise payment sign off.

-Negotiate variations; both in terms of costs and construction timelines.

-Coordinate and issue notification of contract certification including Practical Completion, non-completion, terminations etc

-Coordinate and lead onsite Building Control site inspections with Building Control and Contractor.

-Updating Programme of Works to keep these live 

-Collating and updating project financial tracking and coordinating with the construction and financial teams.

-Ownership of both quality control and project timeline delivery

-Ownership of project profit margins for all live construction projects

-Ownership of successful execution of monthly construction delivery targets.

-Live project running of 6-8 sites (through various construction stages).

-Recruit, vet and enrol new contractors and the relevant systems and processes.

 

Skills:

-Clear and effective communication skills with contractors and HBL staff

-Fully proficient on Microsoft Office especially Excel

-Possess working knowledge of construction costs, construction processes / programmes and relevant construction milestones

-Clear and concise reporting and delivery of project updates

-Proficient computer literacy with the ability to pick up new software.

-Ability to deliver through people

-Work independently and as a team member.

-High levels of organisation and communication – to be demonstrated at the interview*.

-Negotiating skills and the ability to ascertain buy in from all personnel – to be demonstrated at the interview

 

Experience:

-Minimum of 5 years working UK experience in private residential construction

-Preferred but not mandatory is a working knowledge of project costs and estimating.

 

Pre-requisites: 

-Live within suitable commuting distance (circa 30-35 minutes) with preference for living South of the River.

-UK Education with fluent written and spoken English preferable.

-UK Planning experience essential and working UK Construction knowledge preferable.

-Systems and process driven using established methods to deliver – to be demonstrated at the interview

Salary: £38-50,000 DOE
