Our client is a small practice based in Paddington that works on luxury residential projects and currently looking for an FF&E Designer to join them. This will be for a 6-month fixed term contract, with the potential to convert to a permanent position.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Ensuring all FF&E deliverables are exemplary, to the practice’s standard and in line with the direction set by the Director.
- Working closely with the respective teams to ensure that all elements of design relate seamlessly.
- Attending meetings with clients to understand design briefs.
- Oversight of building sites and sub-contractors to ensure projects are delivered to the quality and design agreed with clients
- Attending key industry events, shows and design forums to keep at the forefront of design, styles and current trends
Knowledge, abilities and skills:
- Exceptional, creative, passionate and innovative designer
- Proven FF&E experience for at least 3+ years
- Vectorworks ideally, with Autocad being considered (but would need cross training)
- Computer literate: Proficient in Microsoft Office with a strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop
- Exceptional client relationship style
- Sourcing, scheduling, and specifying furniture, fittings & materials of the highest quality
- Broad range of design skills from sketching initial concepts to fine detail
- Strong presentational skills and ability to communicate and translate designs to client
- Attention to detail
- Expansive knowledge of materials and finishes
- Deep knowledge of the industry and suppliers
