Our client is a small practice based in Paddington that works on luxury residential projects and currently looking for a Head of FF&E to join them.

Reporting to the Director, the Head of FF&E is responsible for leading and developing a team of FF&E and interior designers. The role includes responsibility for developing and maintaining relationships with their clients and suppliers while keeping close to market trends. The Head of FF&E is a key role in the senior management team and is expected to actively lead collaboration across the business.

Key responsibilities and tasks: 

  • Creatively direct projects that include large Stately homes and high-end residential projects in the UK and abroad.
  • Direction of the Design department in the absence of the Director - to ensure that all projects are delivered to the highest standard in an effective and efficient way.
  • Ensuring all FF&E deliverables are exemplary, to the practice’s standard and in line with the direction set by the Director.
  • Recruitment, mentoring and performance management of the FF&E team.
  • Working closely with the respective teams to ensure that all elements of design relate seamlessly.
  • Attending meetings with clients to understand design briefs.
  • Oversight of building sites and sub-contractors to ensure projects are delivered to the quality and design agreed with clients
  • Attending key industry events, shows and design forums to keep at the forefront of design, styles and current trends

 Knowledge, abilities and skills:

  • Exceptional, creative, passionate and innovative designer
  • Proven FF&E experience for at least 10+ years
  • Basic Vectorworks/Autocad skills
  • Computer literate: Proficient in Microsoft Office with a strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop
  • Inspirational leader and mentor with people management skills
  • Exceptional client relationship style
  • Sourcing, scheduling, and specifying furniture, fittings & materials of the highest quality
  • Broad range of design skills from sketching initial concepts to fine detail
  • Strong presentational skills and ability to communicate and translate designs to client
  • Attention to detail
  • Expansive knowledge of materials and finishes
  • Deep knowledge of the industry and suppliers
  • Financially literate and commercially astute

Salary c. £60-70,000 DOE
