9B is currently working with an award-winning and progressive architectural studio who have recently set up a new office in central London. They have a breadth of experience across many sectors and building types and are seeking a Senior Architect, with a minimum of 5 years post Part 3 experience. This particular role will predominantly be working on residential and educational projects.

Whilst reporting to the Project Director, the role will involve the following responsibilities:

  • Manage medium-large sized projects with minimal Director supervision; manage numerous small projects
  • Understand the design project, particularly focusing on our current residential and educational schemes
  • Prepare and develop drawings, models, images and other documents relating to the design and in accordance with the ARB Code of Practice
  • Manage the co-ordination of the internal design team
  • Take responsibility as the team leader for specific areas of the design and project development
  • Winning, leading and overseeing multiple projects; supervising and tutoring junior staff
  • Working with the Directors to set out budget and costs
  • Working with the Directors to set out project specific criteria for success, including deadlines and resources
  • Involvement in business development activities (networking, attending professional events, representing practice etc); able to recognise and respond to potential opportunities, informing directors as appropriate
  • Producing detailed drawings
  • Planning and delivering client presentations
  • Project management and helping to coordinate information

Candidates will therefore require the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 5-year’s post RIBA Part 3 experience, working in a similar role
  • Residential and/or educational design experience
  • Ideally working knowledge of Vectorworks, Sketchup, and InDesign
  • Previous experience with Apple MACs advantageous
