This award-winning multi-disciplinary practice is looking for a talented Senior Landscape Architect to join their Exteriors team. They offer urban design and landscape services from concept through to technical design and works on site, with a focus on residentially-led projects with public realm. Working closely with architects and wider design teams, they design urban green infrastructure and public and private spaces contributing to vibrant, functional and sustainable developments. Their work ensures residents, visitors and passers-by have engaging and visually attractive environments that enhance their health and well-being.
Over recent years they have developed a diverse portfolio, including riverside public realm, town centre regeneration, podia and green roofs, and the co-location of industrial and residential uses. The team provides early design input into many of the firm's Architecture projects to ensure landscape and urban design thinking underpins the wider practice’s design approach.
The successful candidate must have an interest in the design of green infrastructure, public realm and residential amenity. Candidates must have experience from concept through to planning with good presentation skills. Technical and construction experience is advantageous.
Summary of main responsibilities are to:
- Oversee the design process from initial concept through to detail design
- Assist the Directors and Head of Landscape to win and manage urban design and landscape commissions
- Manage, coordinate and execute project work including preparation of design drawings, specifications, tender documentation, presentations and reports
- Monitor and guide the design team and take action where performance and delivery deviates from agreed concept
- Manage client requirements and communicate to the design team
- Liaise with other professional consultants, external specialists and statutory authorities
- Mentor junior team members
Candidates must have the following qualifications, experience and skills
- Landscape Architect graduate
- Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI), or on the Pathway to Chartership
- Experience across all RIBA stages with an emphasis on planning stages and planning applications
- Experience working on large residential/mixed-use projects, podium landscapes and public realm
- Proficient in Revit
- Proficient in Vectorworks and/or Auto CAD
- Proficient in Sketchup / Enscape, Photoshop and InDesign
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; written and verbal
- A confident presenter, capable or presenting to clients, design team and stakeholders
- A passion for landscape architecture, creating high-quality, sustainable design
- An eye for sketching would be advantageous
- Proactive in winning new work, and growing the Exteriors team
- Understand the planning systems and the role landscape architects play
- Work collaboratively with people at all levels and from all backgrounds
