Our client is working on 2 major London developments and therefore looking for assistant project managers to join their expanding team of around 50 people. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will work primarily on large residential and mixed-use schemes and assist with all design stages, administration management, site review and monitoring activities.

The main roles will include:

  • Assist the Senior Project Manager in the design and construction management of designated project/package areas
  • Assist in project delivery within budget and programme to the satisfaction of the company, users and local community
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Successfully manage all stakeholder relationships and represent the Company at meetings, promoting the Company image
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks, create and maintain comprehensive project documentation reporting and escalating to management as needed
  • Understand and implement the project programme and delivery strategy
  • Ensure the project programme and schedule of deliverables is kept up to date and meets the requirements of the brief
  • Manage consultants to ensure information is provided to suit the procurement strategy, within the given timeframes and monitor all works of the consultants/contractors, including the production of working drawings and performance on site
  • Provide regular written reports to monitor performance, risk and opportunity management. Highlight issues at an early stage and ensure the project team are regularly briefed.
  • Ensure design solutions offered by designers and trade contractors comply with the project delivery strategy and programme.
  • Add value to the design development process by challenging solutions and methods.
  • Ensure that all works are carried out in a planned controlled and safe manner, in accordance with statutory regulations, current standards, and the Company’s standards.

Essential skills, attributes & qualifications

  • Be ARB registered
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills 

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working for a property development company
  • Previous international experience would be useful
