A growing architecture studio in central Oxford is looking for a talented and driven Senior Architect to join its expanding team. This is a unique opportunity to take a pivotal role in a small, ambitious studio backed by the stability and resources of a larger practice.
We’re seeking someone ready to step up—leading projects independently, mentoring junior staff, and helping shape the direction of the studio. If you’re a Senior Architect with around 5 years post part 3, a passion for thoughtful design and technical delivery, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Studio
The Oxford team is part of a larger employee-owned AJ100 practice across the UK. The Oxford studio, currently a close-knit team of around 10, is the newest and smallest of their offices, with active plans to grow.
The work focuses on higher education and commercial projects, with strong ties to universities, independent schools, and specialist laboratories. The culture is highly collaborative, and the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) structure fosters shared success, mentoring, and meaningful career development.
The Role
As a Senior Architect, you will:
-
Take ownership of your own projects, from early concept through delivery.
-
Bridge the gap between associate directors and junior team members—offering guidance, reviewing work, and stepping into a leadership role.
-
Apply your software expertise—ideally in Revit, though proficiency in other BIM software is also welcome.
-
Help reduce operational demands on senior leadership, particularly enabling more time for client-facing and strategic responsibilities.
Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who:
-
Has strong Revit skills, or can quickly upskill from other platforms.
-
Brings confidence and clarity to technical detailing and project delivery.
-
Has experience coordinating across disciplines and working on-site.
-
Ideally has a background in higher education, commercial, or laboratory projects.
-
Can be present in the Oxford studio at least 3–4 days per week.
