Our client is a small, but increasingly busy practice in Cambridge that is seeking a Project Architect with 1-5 years post Part 3 experience to assist in the delivery of a variety of challenging and inspiring schemes. They work across a number of sectors, with a particular focus on bespoke residential, community/visitor facilities, ecclesiastical, housing and education. No two scenarios are alike, though many involve the careful conservation, extension and betterment of heritage assets and precious landscapes. Their work is bound by a consistent quality, sensitivity, ingenuity and craft, as they seek to create enduring spaces and settings informed by a deep understanding of their contexts.

The projects are primarily based in the South East and East Anglia, often on beautiful rural and coastal sites, though they have nationwide coverage for the right project. Projects range in size from £0.25m to £10m plus. Staff are expected to be able to work independently, reporting directly to a senior colleague, or as part of a small team delivering larger and more complex proposals. Candidates will run their own projects on site, but also contribute to larger jobs. In addition, there will be competition entries and bids, and concept and planning schemes requiring considered inputs, arresting imagery and thoughtful, concise text.

Their office offers a bright, open plan and collaborative working environment, where ideas and experience are freely shared.

They are looking for candidates with:

  • excellent oral, written and drawn communication skills
  • demonstrable experience across work stages
  • evidence of robust, clear working drawings
  • evidence of a role in the delivery of crafted buildings
  • familiarity with UK building regulations
  • up to five years’ post-qualification experience

They use Vectorworks 3D and the Adobe Creative Suite.
