An established, award-winning housebuilder and developer in Kent, is seeking an Architectural Assistant or Assistant Technical Co-Ordinator to join their growing Technical Team, working alongside the Head of Technical and two experienced Technical Managers.
As part of the Technical Team, you will play a key role in the journey from planning approval through to project completion. This will include liaising with the external design team and supporting the onsite build teams through reviewing the technical drawing package, managing the house type portfolio drawings and working on site under the guidance of the Head of Technical and Technical Managers.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and experienced team of professionals to deliver sites across Kent and at the county boundaries with Surrey, East Sussex and London.
Key duties and requirements:
Your daily tasks and responsibilities will include the following:
- Assisting in the production of layouts, drawings, and technical reports.
- Providing technical support to construction, commercial, and sales teams.
- Coordinating with external consultants and suppliers.
- Managing the submission of planning and building regulation applications.
- Preparing sales and legal information related to the project.
- Attending meetings and taking minutes.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and providing solutions.
- Ensuring that all technical staff are kept up to date with procedures
- To liaise closely with all departmental peers ensuring that the company’s requirements are prioritised and delivered at all times.
- To act as an ‘ambassador’ of the business, seeking to enhance the professional reputation of the company.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is currently working in an Architectural practice or has previous successful experience working for a developer. You will need to be able to demonstrate teamworking and collaboration and effective written and verbal communication. The role will be ideally suited to someone looking to progress their career in an entrepreneurial, collaborative, ambitious and fast-growing business.
You will also need to possess:
- Experience in AutoCAD
- HNC or higher qualification level
- Experience of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint along with strong presentation and written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills and keen eye for detail
- Strong knowledge of the current regulations
